Wow! What a start to the season!

The weekend’s practice games can only be described as brilliant with the boys coming away with a 100+ point win over Parkside and the girls taking out the tournament at Yarra Junction.

These results bode well for the upcoming season. There is still time for people to jump on board as players and be a part of the Laker machine…

Lastly, we wish crowd favourite, Ryan Hurst, all the best with his procedure today. It seems that he is taking the weight loss competition to a whole new level. Hope it all goes well buddy.

On Saturday March 28th there will be a major community event with the KFNC hosting their Season Launch which is set to rock.

During the day it will be the players on the field and the court who entertain us with the footballers taking on Box Hill Nth and the netballers battling Wallan.

The games will be finished by 5pm so we have time to get to know special guest, Midnight Oil front man, Peter Garrett!
Garrett will be there to entertain the masses with inspirational words and hopefully a bit of crazy dancing.

The day will also be a Season Launch for the juniors who will be having their sign up day. They’re are looking for any young Lakers who are interested in pulling on the boots and being part of something special.

Also for the younger kids, there will be a jumping castle for a little extra fun.

Sportsafe will have a stall for anyone that’s in the market for a new mouth guard and there will also be a few other local businesses with stalls set up for the day. Any local business interested in setting up a stall please contact Doggy on 0424 933 964.

World famous chef, Craig Stone, will be cooking up a delicious BBQ buffet dinner at the bargain price of just $12 a head or $30 a family.
